I started with a duplex and a spreadsheet. Same fears every landlord has — am I compliant? What am I forgetting? Is this tenant going to destroy the place?
As I grew to 40+ units, I tried every tool I could find — spreadsheets, apps, one-off utilities. Nothing brought it all together. The work of managing rentals is mostly coordination: collecting rent, tracking leases, fielding maintenance, staying compliant. But no single system handled it well.
I was spending hours every week on tasks that should have taken minutes — and losing sleep over things I might be forgetting. That didn’t sit right with me.
So I built LeaseBase — because I needed it myself. And because no owner should have to choose between profitability and peace of mind.
