1

Landlord sends invitation

Your landlord invites your roommate by email to the same unit you occupy. Only the property owner can initiate this — ask your landlord to send the invitation.

2

Co-tenant accepts

Your roommate creates a LeaseBase account and accepts the invitation. They are then linked to the same unit and lease that you occupy.

3

Shared access

Both tenants see the shared lease, rent charges, and maintenance requests. Each tenant can pay their share of rent independently. Maintenance requests are visible to all tenants on the unit.

Common questions

Can I invite a co-tenant myself?

No. Only the property owner can send tenant invitations. Ask your landlord to invite your roommate by providing their email address.

Can we split rent payments?

Yes. Each co-tenant can pay any portion of the rent independently. The charge tracks who paid what so both tenants have a clear payment history.
