Switch from Baselane to LeaseBase
Export your bank transactions, financial reports, and tenant data from Baselane — then upload them to LeaseBase. Our AI reads your files and builds your portfolio automatically. No re-typing required.
What You Can Export from Baselane
| Data Type | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bank Transactions | CSV, XLSX, PDF | Richer data from integrated banking |
| Profit & Loss | CSV, XLSX, PDF | By property or portfolio-wide |
| Rent Roll | CSV, XLSX, PDF | Active leases with rent amounts |
| Tenant Ledgers | CSV, XLSX, PDF | Per-tenant payment history |
| Schedule E (Tax Package) | Tax-ready reports with transaction ledgers | |
| CSV Import | CSV | Desktop only; import transactions from external sources |
All three formats (CSV, XLSX, PDF) are supported across Baselane’s financial reports. LeaseBase accepts all of them.
How to Export Your Data from Baselane
- Export Bank Transactions: Go to Banking in the left sidebar. Click the Export button at the top of your transaction list. Choose CSV, XLSX, or PDF. If you have multiple Baselane banking accounts, export each one separately.
- Export the Rent Roll: Go to Reports → Rent Roll. This shows all active leases with property, unit, tenant, and rent amount details. Click Export and choose your preferred format.
- Export Tenant Ledgers: Go to Reports → Tenant Ledger. Select a property or tenant, then click Export to download the payment history as CSV, XLSX, or PDF.
- Export P&L and Tax Reports: Go to Reports → Profit & Loss or Tax Center → Schedule E. Set your date range and click Export. The tax package includes a PDF with supporting transaction ledgers.
- Upload to LeaseBase: Go to app.leasebase.ai/app/import and drop your exported files. Our AI classifies each document and extracts your data automatically.
How LeaseBase Imports Your Data
- Upload — Drop your CSV, XLSX, or PDF files into the importer. Multiple files at once are fine.
- AI classifies & extracts — Our AI identifies each document type (rent roll, tenant ledger, transaction export) and extracts every property, unit, tenant, and lease term. Address normalization and fuzzy matching resolve formatting differences automatically.
- Review & confirm — You see exactly what was found. Green means auto-matched to existing records. Amber means confirm. Nothing is created until you approve.
What Gets Imported
- Properties — addresses, property types, and all associated details
- Units — unit numbers, bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, rent amounts
- Tenants — names, contact information, unit assignments
- Leases — start and end dates, rent amounts, lease terms
Payment history can be exported from Baselane for your records, but LeaseBase starts fresh with rent collection. Your Baselane banking history remains accessible in your exported files.
Why Landlords Switch from Baselane
- Compliance automation: LeaseBase monitors AB 1482 rent caps, local rent control ordinances, and required disclosures across 60+ California cities. Baselane does not offer compliance tracking.
- AI-powered operations: Smart briefings, renewal risk detection, and proactive maintenance triage replace manual monitoring. LeaseBase watches your portfolio continuously, not just when you log in.
- Full maintenance & vendor management: Tenant-submitted work orders, vendor assignment, quote tracking, and cost management — all integrated with your properties and financials.
- Lease e-signatures: Generate leases from templates, send for signature, and store executed copies — no separate e-signature subscription required.
