Switch from TurboTenant to LeaseBase
Export your tenants, properties, and rent data from TurboTenant and import everything into LeaseBase in minutes. CSV exports only — but that’s all we need.
What You Can Export from TurboTenant
TurboTenant supports CSV-only exports via Settings → Export Data and the floppy disk icon on dashboard sections. No Excel or PDF report exports.
| Data Type | Exportable? | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Properties | ✓ | CSV |
| Tenants | ✓ | CSV |
| Rent Payments & Deposits | ✓ | CSV |
| Rent Roll (occupancy, lease terms, rents, deposits, balances) | ✓ | CSV |
| Expenses | ✓ | CSV |
| Lease Documents | ✗ | No bulk export |
Step-by-Step: Export Your Data from TurboTenant
- Log in to your TurboTenant account on the web.
- Go to Settings → Export Data. This is the primary export location for bulk data.
- Select Tenants and click Export to download your tenant list as CSV.
- Select Properties and export as CSV.
- For rent data, navigate to the Rent Payments dashboard section. Click the floppy disk icon to export payment history as CSV.
- To export your rent roll (occupancy, lease terms, rent amounts, security deposits, and balances), use the floppy disk icon on the Rent Roll section.
- For expenses, go to Finances → Expenses and use the export icon.
Note: TurboTenant only exports CSV files. LeaseBase handles CSV imports natively, so this works perfectly.
How LeaseBase Imports Your Data
- Upload — Drop your exported CSV, XLSX, or PDF files into the LeaseBase importer. Upload multiple files at once.
- AI classifies & extracts — Our AI identifies the document type, extracts properties, units, tenants, and lease terms automatically. Address normalization and fuzzy matching resolve formatting differences between files.
- Review & confirm — Everything is shown for your approval before anything is created. Green means auto-matched, amber means confirm. One click and your portfolio is live.
What Gets Imported
- Properties — addresses, property types, ownership details
- Units — unit numbers, bedrooms, bathrooms, rent amounts
- Tenants — names, contact information, unit assignments
- Leases — start/end dates, rent amounts, deposit amounts, lease terms
Payment history can be exported from TurboTenant for your records, but LeaseBase starts fresh with rent collection — tenants get a clean ledger and a new payment portal from day one.
Why Landlords Switch from TurboTenant
- Compliance automation — TurboTenant has no compliance features. LeaseBase tracks rent caps, deposit limits, and required disclosures for 60+ California cities automatically.
- Full vendor management — Assign vendors, track work order progress, manage invoices, and coordinate repairs — TurboTenant only tracks maintenance requests without vendor coordination.
- AI-powered insights — Market intelligence, smart briefings, and proactive alerts replace manual research and guesswork.
- White-labeled payments — Your tenants see your brand when they pay rent. TurboTenant charges tenants processing fees — LeaseBase does not.
